Business Recruitment
MWCDC planning documents, such as the Mount Washington Business District Improvement Plan, identify the types of businesses that residents desire within the neighborhood. Three of MWCDC’s long-term goals related to business recruitment are to (1) improve the quality, appearance and accessibility of each of the eight neighborhood business districts, (2) maintain or improve commercial space occupancy rates, and (3) meet the stated needs of the community regarding the mix of local service and retail businesses.

An updated local business district map.
A commercial space inventory.
Program coordination with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh.
