Eureka Street Renovation, SOLD!
After months of hard work and investment, another residential rehab is close to completion in Mount Washington. The strategy calls for additional investment in areas that haven’t received as much investment as others in our neighborhood, with a focus on increasing owner-occupancy through the creation of quality, affordable home ownership opportunities. The City of Pittsburgh will hold two public hearings to seek input from interested residents and community organizations on the 2015 Community Development Block Grant Program. These hearings are in addition to the three Capital Budget hearings we posted about yesterday. 2015 Community Development Block Grant Program Hearings: Tuesday, October 14, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Allegheny, 1230 Federal Street, 15212. Tuesday, October 28, South Side Market House, Intersection of 12th& Bingham Streets, 15203. The hearings are being held prior to the release of the 2015 Capital Budget to enable the City to adequately review citizen testimony. In addition, those attending the hearings are invited to comment on the prior use of the City’s CDBG funds and other federal funds. Please note that the Office of Community Affairs chose locations in coordination with the Office of Management & Budget to ensure that they are at publicly and handicap accessible facilities, in different locations than years past. Upon request, arrangements can be made for non-English speaking, visually impaired, or hearing impaired residents. Additionally, O.C.A. is following the Citizen Participation Plan laid out by the Department of City Planning to ensure as many residents as possible are notified of the hearings. This includes, but is not limited to, announcements in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, New Pittsburgh Courier, City Cable Channel, NextDoor, Mind Mixer, at community meetings, and via email and standard mail to community groups. There will be additional opportunities for public input when meetings are held for the 5-Year Consolidated Plan, FY 2015 Annual Action Plan, and the Analysis of Impediments. For more information please contact the Office of Community Affairs at 412-255-4773 or grant.gittlen@pittsburghpa.gov ...
