At the BioBlitz, scientists and citizen scientist volunteers will conduct an inventory of plants and animals living in Emerald View Park. The public is invited to attend the BioBlitz, where you will interact with scientists, learn about nature, and participate in fun activities for all ages.

Day 1:  Friday, June 6
  • Owl Calling Hike
    7-9 pm
Day 2:  Saturday, June 7
  • Early Morning Bird Count
    6-10 am
  • BioBlitz Main Event: Plant & animal inventory, nature games, crafts, hikes
    10am-2pm

Kiva City Pittsburgh, the URA of Pittsburgh and the Office of Mayor Bill Peduto are pleased to bring the Small Business Resource Fair to the West End! Join us to learn about neighborhood business grants, 0% and low interest loans, and other great opportunities for new and established small businesses. In addition to the partners listed above, exhibitors include: Center for Women's Entrepreneurship, Chatham University Consumer Health Coalition Design Center Duquesne University Small Business Development Center Google's "Get Your Business Online" Program Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence, University of Pittsburgh Mt. Washington Community Development Corporation The Office of Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith... And more! A limited number of computers will be available for those who would like to create their free webpage via Google's "Get Your Business Online" program at the event. Please bring a laptop if you have one. The Fair runs from 4:30pm to 7:00pm and a welcome and opening remarks will be made at 5:30pm, but attendees can drop in any time.
